If your laundry room looks like your washer and dryer exploded, fear not! Due to the constant influx of clothes and linens that need to be cleaned every week, the laundry room is one of the hardest areas of the home to keep neat and organized. But hope’s not lost. Here are some great ways to revamp your space so that it’s neat, clean and free of clutter.
If your primary laundry room concern is piles upon piles of clothes taking up precious floor space, then you’ll want to consider adding some clothing organization solutions. We love the idea of adding three or four laundry baskets, nestled nicely within a shelf or storage unit, so that you can designate clothes by dirty or clean. You can also add an extra basket for clothes that need to be ironed or pieces that you want to donate or get rid of. Laundry baskets don’t need to be plastic and uninspiring. Wicker and woven baskets work great in the laundry room and adds a bit of style to your space.
Don’t let all those necessary laundry knickknacks get lost in the fold. Detergent, dryer sheets, fabric softener, stain correctors and other essentials can be neatly organized on a shelving unit above your washer and dryer. Choose open-top wall-mounted shelves to accommodate large bottles of cleaning supplies, and consider adding a wall basket or two for tossing in solo socks, loose change and other items that escaped from pockets in the wash.
Your washer and dryer should be the only bulky piece of equipment in the laundry room! Consider choosing space-conscious accessories, such as a fold-up wall ironing board or collapsible laundry baskets and hampers, to free up clutter and keep your space neat and efficient. If you have a front-loading washer and dryer, you can create a DIY folding station above your appliances so that you can get rid of that bulky folding table.
