Corks and Caps Attendees Raise Their Glasses and Money

The Corks and Caps event, held at the HOM Furniture showroom in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, raised $32,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley. Formerly known as “An Evening of Wine & Cheese”, this was the 12th celebration of the event, which is held annually on Mother’s Day weekend.

In 2018, along with the name change, the Corks and Caps event was revamped to include a beer tasting. This continued in 2019, along with new entertainment and fun themes. More than 300 people attended the 2019 event, which featured HOM Furniture’s showroom designed as four different themed lounges:

• 1920's Nightcap Lounge
• 1940's Fireside Lounge
• 1950's Atomic Lounge
• 1970's Starlight Lounge

While roaming from decade to decade in the themed lounges, guests sampled on a selection of fine wines, craft beer and hors d’ oeuvres, while enjoying live entertainment, which was provided by the team of sponsors. A raffle and silent auction also contributed to the final monetary donation for the Boys & Girls club.
